Hi, Thanks for dropping by, I am currently, by the light of several thousand fireflys trapped in an old jam jar, busily painting, cutting and glueing pixels together to create this site. Obviously, at the moment it’s all a bit of a mess, as I struggle to understand and test all this new techno, linear thinking stuff that my limited brain capacity has always had problems with. Please drop back in a few days and I promise it will all be a bit easier to navigate by then. OR, you may like to CLICK HERE to visit a site with a lot more of my work. Regards, Lindsay

Porcelain Hearts

WELCOME

My art is a result of my gently cynical, mildly melancholic and terminally confused mind.
Each piece of work is my humble attempt to make some sense, from the implied meanings I observe, as humans and events interact.
I find great humour exploring the issues I observe, I revel in the inner questions they pose, and as a result, my art is simply my personal attempt to better understand my reactions to to what my Mum would have said, “tickles my fancy”
It’s stuff like:
What binds a particular group of people together, yet excludes others?
What is it we treasure in the company of others, yet so often destroy?
What thoughts are behind the eyes of those I treasure, and those I treasure less?
Why does an honest, child-like quest for truth, scare so many?
I enjoy pondering this stuff as I draw, I look for the moments when these types of thought are fleetingly expressed.
Then when painting, in an attempt to record it’s essence, I find myself juxtaposing, removing and exaggerating unrelated elements, colours and narrative.

When all this comes together, when it works “IF it works”, I find meanings begin to inhabit the eyes and expressions of the character/s or objects  and my own understanding is momentarily illuminated.
It’s a fascinating, confronting, endless, bloody frustrating, journey.
You are most welcome to join me and see what I see,
When I take the time to look.

Thanks for taking the time
Kindest regards Lindsay
